Government Institutions Short Task visa is issued to foreign nationals who are coming to accomplish certain tasks for government institutions for a short period of time.
Government Employment Visa is issued to foreign nationals to be employed by different Ethiopian government institutions/ministries.
Investment Visa is issued to foreign nationals who are engaged in investment activities. It can also be issued to potential investors who wish to come to Ethiopia to see investment opportunities or invest in Ethiopia.
Journalist visa is issued to foreign Journalists, media professionals or film makers, coming to cover events, reports for media organizations or produce films, TV or written material of various kinds.
NGO Visa is issued to foreign nationals who are invited by NGOs operating in Ethiopia for employment or short-term assignments.
Ethiopian Private Business Firm Work Visa is issued to foreign nationals coming for employment or other short-term assignments with Ethiopian private business firms.
International Organizations/Embassies Work Visa is issued to foreign nationals with ordinary passports who are invited by international organizations or Embassies resident in Ethiopia for different work purposes.
Foreign Business Firm Employment Visa is issued to foreign nationals to be employed by business firms owned or operated by foreigners.

If the country of the travel document registered on the e-visa is different from the passport carried, you will be denied entry.
By travel document, we mean passports and ID cards (for the citizens of specific countries).
Passport-size photo should be a clear picture of you showing your entire face including your eyes.
Passport copy should be a scanned or camera-captured image of your valid passport showing your photo and bio-data.
Documents can be of file type JPEG, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF or PDF with size less than or equal to 2MB. Photo and Passport copy can't be in PDF format.

Citizens of African countries who can't make the payment online can pay on arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. We encourage you to pay online as much as possible to beat the queues at the airport.
Please make sure all the information provided is correct. The information will be checked against your passport at immigration counter upon arrival. If any of the information mismatches with the one on your passport, you will be denied entry to Ethiopia.
